Spring???

Spring, spring oh where are you? What a tease you are. Well, despite the snowy and cold weather the last few days we decided it was not going to get us down. We were going to play outside anyway!!! It all started with the dollar kite we got for Emery awhile ago. We had about a week of wonderful Spring weather so we were outside almost all day everyday. We got the kite and just as you'd know our windy Cedar City weather was not cooperating with us. It was as calm as calm could be. So to please our excited and begging child Tim picked her up and started running up and down the street while she held her Elmo kite high with a big grin.
Well, this lasted only so long, as you can imagine, for Tim got out of breath. So my ingenious husband had a grand idea and this is what he came up with next......

So Emery(and Tim) got their kite fix and all was well.Until... This awful Winter weather came in and we were cooped up in the house. It was snowing pretty good and Tim with his scientific mind had another science experiment to conduct. We got all bundled up, grabbed our experienced one dollar Elmo kite and headed to fly our kite in the snow and wind. Well, it worked just like normal. Elmo, we are proud of your determination and gusto. And Spring, we are going to enjoy you rain, snow, or sun. You are not going to get the best of us.

Fun with the Johnsons

Last weekend we had Tim's family come stay with us. It was lots of fun to see everyone! Emery especially loves to see Sadie. They are such cute little cousins together. I took this picture of the girls at Iggy's while we were waiting to be seated. Yummy, yummy food.
Sitting with Uncle Brady on the Canyon Park trail.

Emery sure loves her grandma and grandpa!

The cool bridge we walked to on our little "hike" up the canyon.

University of Utah Here We Come!!!

If you can not tell by the title we got accepted to the University of Utah College of Pharmacy!!!! We are so excited and feel so blessed! We know we have had a lot of help from our Heavenly Father. This application process has been life changing for us and we have learned a lot about ourselves. It has been very humbling, uplifting, and inspiring. Thanks to everyone for all the support and encouragement. It is crazy to think that a few months ago we were wondering if we should even submit our applications. They were turned in kind of late and we were not even sure if we would be considered by any schools. The best part has been hearing back from all the schools we applied to so fast, all of them wanting an interview from him. It has been such a confidence builder for Tim. The best part for me is finally having him see himself the way that I see him. I knew he could do it! He is so smart, patient, kind, talented, and more. I know this is an excellent career choice for his personality and talents. We are very excited to know our future goals are becoming a reality. Go Utes!!

Princess Party!

Princesses, Princesses Everywhere. Last weekend was also Nykels birthday and she had a PINK Princess party! Emery had a BLAST!! All the girls invited dressed up in princess dresses. It was so adorable and they all felt so special! I know Emery did!
Here she is before the party. She held on to the present she took Nykel tight all the way to her house (we even walked to her house and the bag was almost as big as her). It was pretty cute.

Right when she got there Jenny put a tiara on her head and gave her a wand. That is when Emery REALLY lit up! This is not the greatest picture of it but you can tell by the look on her face as she and Nykel are running into the family room to show off their stuff! :)

Playing Princess with their new wands.

It is very hard to tell in these pictures but they are singing to Nykel with her cake and opening presents. The little girls were all so excited that they were basically sitting on her lap. They all couldn't get close enough. So fun.
But here is close up of the cake. Tim made it for Nykel the day before. It was a really fun one to make!

And last but not least all the Princesses together. They all looked so cute. I tried to take the balloon from Emery but her stubborn streak came in and I figured the picture would be better with her happy holding the balloon rather than screaming without it(passed nap time)! Thanks for the super fun party Andy, Jenny, and Nykel. We all had so much fun and the food was delicious!

Great Visitors!

Last weekend we were so lucky to have my mom and Erin come and stay with us for the night. Erin had a performance with her viola the next day that that we got to go see, which was very neat and fun! In this picture Erin got her viola out for Emery and started playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Emery was in awe and started smiling and singing. It is her favorite song right now and can sing the whole thing through by herself even. I have only heard her sing it all the way through by herself when she is playing by herself on occation, so I know she can. But she loved Erin playing for her. She also LOVED seeing Grandma Bug-a-boo. Thanks for coming guys! Come again soon.

Happy Birthday Tim

Wow, it has been a while sense I have posted on this blog! You can tell this because Tim's Birthday is February 18th and I am finally getting to it. Well I guess we actually had his party planned on the 18th but I ended up getting the flu so he spent the whole day taking care of me and Emery instead. What a Happy Birthday huh? What a sweet husband I have. So we changed the party to a later date. So I guess that gives me some room. :)

We tried to do a whole Chinese theme with it so we played ping-pong....

...did a little bit of Chinese decorations
...ate Chinese food...

Thanks everyone for coming. It was especially fun to have Tim's brother Brady come. He was the "it" of the party because the day before he flew his helicopter down really low over our house and circled a few times while waving. It was awesome and Emery thinks he is just the coolest ever, along with everyone else there. :)

Happy Birthday Sweet heart! I feel so blessed to be married to you! You are so smart, handsome, patient, kind, helpful, talented, and best of all you love us(your family) dearly as well. I have always felt like I have married up in the world. Thanks for being who you are!

I am so lucky to have a little clone of you in looks and personality as well. It will be fun to see what Kaven will be like as well. I am hoping for another one like the two of you. Love you!

President's Day

Last weekend we decided to go to Logandale when some other plans were canceled. Sometimes I think the best things happen when they are spontaneous or spur of the moment. Because of this all of my siblings and their kids were there too, and that hardly ever happens. It is so great to get everyone together and Emery absolutely LOVES being with her cousins! Here are some of the spontaneous things we did there.

Small Horses/Rodeo

We all went to a rodeo and saw these adorable little horses there. Emery just fell in love with them. I guess that's why so many little girls want a pony. If she was not sitting on one she was hugging them, kissing them, or petting them. It was very cute.

"Annual" Giant Birthday Party
It seems that every Presidents day we have a giant Birthday party for Casey, Jodi, Tim and Heston, because their birthdays are all that coming week. Every year, it seems we never plan on it, but sense it's Presidents day, and we all have the day off from work, school and such all my siblings end up down in Logandale together. So we end up having a giant birthday party for them all. It has become a fun tradition that was never really a tradition at all. :)

Fire in the Wash
My parents are getting their wash set up really cool. They have animals, grow boxes, tent sites, fire pit.... so it is really fun for the grand kids. They are also working on a chicken coop, shed, BBQ grills, and a slide that runs from the top of the wash to the bottom. Pretty fun, I think. We love playing down there every time we go.

Raiding Grandma's Treat Jar

My mom has a treat jar in her closet just for the grand kids, and they all know it too. It has been awhile sense I have gotten a pictures of the cousin "triplets". We call them that because they were all due within a month of each other. It has been so fun watching them grow up together, but we definitely do not get them together enough.
