10 Months!

My sweet Emery girl is now 10 months old. I can hardly believe how the time flys. Here are some things she is doing now.

-Shake her head back and forth and smiles when we ask her ask her a question.

-Eat almost anything she can get her hands on. She loves to eat at the table with mom and dad. We will just break whatever we are eating into pieces, and she LOVES that.

-Walks anywhere as long as she has someone to get her started and someone to catch her.

-Loves to play with mom's hair while she is eating. She is very gentle with it and hardly ever pulls it. She just opens her hand with her fingers stretched out, like a comb and runs her fingers through it..

-Is a big time ma ma's girl. Wants to be right next to or cuddling with me (I love that!).

-When she is trying to say words for the first time or copy Tim or I, she usually whispers it (maybe she is self conscious).

-Her hair is just barely long enough to put in a pigtail or a clippy bow in it.

-Her favorite show is Baby Einstein(Baby's First Moves), she watches it very close and tries to copy what she sees. She especially likes to clap her hands when they are clapping.

-Love's her bunny (Mr. Hoppers) as you can see in the picture below.

-Her favorite book by far is DOGS, an action flap, pull tabs book that makes some of the dogs move. That is all she wants me to read to her.

We sure love Emery and have enjoyed watching her grow so far. We can't wait for the memories we get to keep making in the future!

Pretty in Pink

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO Emery is starting to get around a little bit better. If she could crawl and pull herself up onto things and I almost sure she would be walking by now. She can walk across the whole room when she has someone to get her started. We are in no hurry though. I still enjoy being able to put her in a spot and know she will stay there. We sure love our Emery girl. She brings so much joy into our lives.

Happy Birthday Tim!

Last Monday it was Tim's Birthday. We were able to celebrate it as a Giant Party. Not only was it Tim's Birthday but Jodi (my sister) Casey and Heston (Jodi's kids) birthdays as well. It felt like it was Christmas all over again. There was a huge pile of presents for them to open. We were able to do some fun things on his Birthday. We played tennis, ping-pong and Basketball in beautiful weather! This is a video of Emery cheering for her Daddy while he was playing tennis. So fun! We both had a great weekend in Logandale and it was great to see family!

Together Again

We finally got the three babies together again. It was so fun to see them interact with each other this time. Lincoln smiled and giggled at the other two, Emery just stared and somtimes reached (I guess she is used to having other babies her age around), and James smiled and played. It is still hard to believe that they are cousins, as you see they look nothing alike but the sure like each other. Lincoln had the cutest little shy smile. He would look up at you with his big brown eyes, tuck his chin in, and smile. Talk about a heart melter. He is also starting to scoot around. James is still as smiley as ever. He is getting everywhere and pulling himself up onto things. He is also saying cool word like "zaw". Of course Emery had to show off her stuff as well. She was walking in-between people (usually just to me). She also rolled over from back to front for the first time as well this last weekend. It is starting to get a little harder to take pictures of them because James kept escaping. It is always neat to get the three babies together and we look forward future babies to come!

Lost City Museum

This last weekend we went to Logandale Nevada to celebrate Tim's birthday, get out of the cold and snow and it was a three day weekend. My family was all there so it was a great reunion! On Saturday we went to the Lost city Museum in our town. It was a great family outing and Emery really seemed to enjoy it. You can see her here taking in all the sights! Don't worry more pictures of our weekend are on the way.

Valentines Day

As you may know from previous blogs, Tim and I LOVE holidays! Valentines Day was really neat this year. Tim really surprised me with two great gifts, which Emery was thrilled about, not the gift but the instrutions and packaging of a TV and CD player. We also had a fabulous surprise dinner. I surprised Tim with the dinner and he surprised me with the dessert. I made a Hawiian lual dinner and Tim made up an oreo, mint ice-cream cheese cake with hot fudge topping, talk about heaven!!!!!!! The best part was spending time together. I am so grateful for our blessing and the love we have for each other. I could not ask for a better Husband!

It's Warming Up!!!

For the last three days the weather has been wonderful! This has been the first winter in my life where I have had cabin fever. I think it is because I am not getting out of the house everyday by going to school or working. So I have felt pretty cooped up. It has been so nice lately that we have been going on walks every day. I think Emery feels the same as me because she loves going on walks too. We both love being outside.
I guess our friends feel the same way too because we all ended up going on a walk together. Some people were giving us some pretty wierd looks as they drove by. We were like a stoller train. Reminds me of when you see all those Harleys driving by. :) I also had to throw in a picture of our beautiful landscape in our backyard and neighborhood. I love Cedar City. I think it is so beautiful here! Hooray for Spring. We are ready for you!

Tagged Twice

Okay, I have been tagged by two different people, and yes I know it was a long time ago, but I figured I better get on it because these are some of my favorite blogs to read. So, I kind of picked a chose which questions to answer. Here it goes!!!!

10 years ago today....
I was a freshman in High School. I was probably really involved in playing all my sports, (Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Swimming) I think it was basketball season during this time though. I was also pretty involved in seminary, choir, band (playing the flute and flag girl), home-ec. and theater. Boy was I ever busy. All these activity got to be almost too much by my Junior year and I had to make some choices.

5 years ago:
I think I was a sophmore in college. I was attending Southern Utah University. I am not sure if I was decided on my degree by then but eventually decided on Elementary Education with Early Childhood as a minor. On my free time (when I was not going to classes or working at the pre-school or pool, I was either going home on weekends, playing volleyball or wallyball with friends and if I was lucky going on a date! Boy college was a great time in my life.

1 year ag0:
I was 7 months pregnant with Emery, working as a kindergarten teacher at Fiddlers Elementary, Tutoring 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and trying to wind down or relaxe when possible! :)

5 snacks I enjoy:
-Grahm crackers and milk (we don't usually have these though)
-Fruit snacks (we usually only have these when we go camping)
-Plain tortilla chips, I eat these all the time, I LOVE crunchy things!
-Cereal, this is a bad habbit, but when I am really snacky I just eat whatever cereal we have in handfuls, or I guess a handful at a time. That is why I try to avoid buying cereal.
-Any kind of kid cracker or cookie, as you might have noticed, I LOVE kid/baby snacks! I know I am probably weird, but I just say I am a kid at heart!

5 TV shows I like:
-Survivor, My all time favorite right now. Fans vs. Favorites AWESOME!
-Studio 5 & Good Things Utah, I have these shows on while I'm cleaning in the morning. They sometimes have some great ideas!
-Price is Right
-Deal or No Deal
-Family Fued and Temptation, as you can see I Love game shows.

I enjoy:
Oh so many things, spending time with family and that is any family. I especially like big family gatherings! I love being outside watching and listening to nature. I love picnics and BBQ's. I enjoy listening to the rain and being safe in my home, I love the smell of good things baking. I love the sound of my husbands voice (talking and singing). I love it when Emery babbles and giggles. I could go on and on...............

If I suddenly became a billionaire...
I would finish getting Tim through school with all the schooling he wanted to do. We would buy a home with a big yard for gardening, playing areas and fruit trees. Build a shop for Tim. Sell our two cars and buy a truck and a newer car with less miles. Help people where ever I could see. We would also probably invest some of it. Go on a trip to get out of the snow and cold!

3 of my bad habits:
-It seems this is a common one but it is what drives Tim the most crazy, leaving the clothes in the washer. I guess it is good to know I am not the only one that does that.
-Not putting things away after I use them, for example I throw my clothes on the floor just to have more things to pick up later, I feel like I am constantly picking things up and cleaning. It is a constand battle with all of us in this house.
-Leaving the minutes and seconds on the microwave after heating something up. Then we can't see what time it is. That also bugs Tim but I am getting better at clearing it. :)

5 things I hate doing:
-Cleaning toilets
-Cleaning up throw-up
-Folding laundry, I actually don't mind it too much but for some reason it always seems to stack up!
-Taking care of a sick baby
-DRIVING!!!!

5 places I have lived:
-Cedar City, Utah
-Logandale, Nevada
-Apple Valley, California
-Orange County, California
-Orem, Utah (As you see we moved a lot while I was growing up, but I kind of liked it)

5 jobs I've had:
-Fruitbar Distrubutor (selled fruitbars at fair and delevered them to stores in lots of different towns and cities)
-Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor, I loved teaching swim lessons but did not enjoy the life-guard part as much
-Pre-school worker, I loved this job! I basically just played with kids all day and had kid snacks(my favorite).
-Kindergarten Teacher; this was kind of hard for me because I was doing my student teaching with homework and working full time, and to top it off I was pregnant, sick and tired through it all. Oh I loved the kids though and think I would enjoy it more in the future if I did not have so much going on.
-Babysitter; that is kind of my job right now. I watch two babies other than Emery and they are all within a week of each other. It is a great way for us to earn a little extra money and me be able to stay home with our sweet baby still!

5 things people don't know about me:
- I have a phobia of Driving, but at least I drive now when it is really important.
- I am left handed
- I had a huge imagination when I was little and could play and intertain myself for hours with any object or without anything at all.
-I love to draw, build and create things. I am not into copying things very much. I like to think of things on my own and the create them. But the older I get them more I copy things because I don't have as much time to think them up on my own.
- I was voted most athletic three years in a row in middle school (in the year book) I was very competitive growing up. I think more than a lot of people know, I had to be the best at EVERYTHING!!! but I have mellowed out a lot sense I have gotten married because Tim seems to out-do me in everything, which is good because I was an extream perfectionist too! Those traits all went hand in hand I think.

I guess that's all. Thanks for the people that tagged me! It was a lot of fun remenising about the past.

Who Needs Matches When you Have Sticks!!

Hooray! Tim has has finally figured out how to make fire with a bow drill. This is something he has been studing and practicing for a while now. He is giving a speech on it in his comunications class this Friday so he figured he better practice what he is preaching. We were both thrilled. This is a pretty hard way to make a fire because you can't use matches, batteries or any helps. You just can use things you can find in the wilderness, sticks, rocks, ect. Now we just have to wait and see how he does on his speech (It looks like it is going to go well to me)!
*Thanks for the book and the tips on how to do it dad!
