Hills Family Reunion

Last weekend we went to my Dad's side, family reunion. It was such a neat experience because I hadn't seen some of my cousins for a few years and a lot of them hadn't seen Emery yet. It was really fun to watch all my younger cousins follow Emery around everywhere she went. I enjoyed that; having free babysitters all weekend! Nice!
This lodge that we went to was incredible. It had this giant room with about 10 nice couches, fancy tables, ping-pong table, pool table, poker/game table, bar, big screen TV(which we watched a lot of Olympics on) above a fire place. An industrial kitchen and a breakfast/eating room. On the floor above that there were 12 bedrooms with TVs and a bathroom for each room. There was another room with like 12 bunk beds each divided. There were also decks, waterfalls, hot-tubs etc. All I can say is cool place!!!
Even though it was such a cool place it was not the best part of the reunion. Being with family is great no matter where you are. You can be in the fanciest place in the world or out the in wilderness with hardly anything. The best memories are built upon relationships and experiences, and that is what I love the best!
Even if it is exhausting at the end of the day.

Spaghetti Anyone?

I just took this picture a day or two ago and thought it was so cute, so I had to post it. Emery has always been such a good eater especially when it comes to any kind of noodle. The only problem is that it is always such a mess! So usually after every meal she has a minni bath in the Kitchen sick. It just makes me smile. I sure love this age she is in right now. It is so fun to try to see this new world through her eyes! Everything is so fascinating, from toilet brushes, to dumping milk all over the floor, to spreading spaghetti all of the place, just to see what it does. Amazing!

On the Go

These last two months I have had a really hard time getting a good picture of Emery. I finally figured out that it is because she just wants to go, go, go and not sit and smile for the camera. So I started taking pictures of her on the go and they have turned out better. It is so fun watching her dance and run around everywhere. The first is of her running with a big smile on her face so I said her name and she stopped for a second and I took a picture FAST. The second is of her dancing away while we were playing rock band with are friends across the street. Very fun seeing all the kids dance while we played.

She is also in the beginning stages of getting into things and making a mess. This is the stage that drives most parents crazy. I have always said that it is my favorite stage. I guess we will see if I still believe that, dealing with it myself for the first time. These both happened in the same day if you can believe it. In the first one she had gotten into my mascara and tried to put it on (just like mom) but it ended up on her forehead and lips, pretty close (hee hee). The other picture she got into the pantry, pulled a bunch of things out and then thought it would be cool to play in the powdered milk and draw pretty pictures in it, all over the floor. How sweet, she is following in her parents footsteps by being creative. I look forward to the bigger things she is going to do in the future (maybe). Hold my breath, here she goes!

Great Friends!

I have been wanting to do this post for awhile now, but we have been so busy with other events this summer that I haven't had room to blog it in. Now we have had a slower time and I thought this would be a great time, especially because some of our best friends are moving on Thursday. These pictures were taken at the beginning of the summer when some of us went to the park for a picnic and fun. We feel so blessed, pictured are just of few are the great friends we have made since we have moved to Sunset Ridge. These people have changed my life and made me a much greater person and I just want to say thank you!
