Halloween Party

Halloween is so fun with all the party's, decorations, candy, food, and smells. On Tuesday we went to a very fun Halloween Party that Andy and Jenny host every year, with stew cooked in a real pumpkin and all kinds of yummy food. I wish I would have taken some pictures because the decorations were so cute and everyone looked so cool. While we were playing games I hear Emery's little voice down the hall saying "Mommy....(pause)....... mommy..........(pause)..........mommy." So I go to investigate and I find her stuck in this little plastic toy bucket. I thought it was so cute, and I was impressed she wasn't crying about it. Instead she used her words and called for me. What a proud moment. It is so nice that she is able to talk a little bit now. I guess it was a good thing she didn't have her wings on because that could have gotten really uncomfortable! Just want to say thanks to Andy and Jenny again for a fun party!

Carving Pumpkins

For Family Home Evening on Monday we decided to carve some pumpkins. Tim gave a really cute lesson on paying tithing. He got 10 toys (all about the same size) then told Emery to pick one. He then took the one toy she picked and left her the other nine and taught that tithing is giving one tenth of our things and the best one tenth of it(her favorite one because she chose it). And she was still happy to have nine toys to play with too. I thought it was a really cute lesson, perfect for Emery's level. Emery had a TON of fun carving pumpkins. She helped me with one the whole time. First we cut the top off. We could hardly get her to look up at the camera she was so focused on what she was doing.
Then we pulled all the guts out. As you see we could not get her to look up for this.
Finally we carved the face. This is the finished result of Emery first pumpkin. Pretty cute for her first one, I must say. :) The last picture is the pumpkin Tim carved. He is so talented. He drew/designed and carved it all himself. It was hard to get a good picture of it. I wish you all could see it in real life because it looks even cooler. If you can not tell it is a haunted house. Very cool!

Shooting with Dad

It was a beautiful day on Saturday so we decided to go out with some great friends and go shooting and rabbit hunting. While we were there Tim helped Emery shoot a gun for her very first time. I don't know who was more excited, Tim or Emery. I was actually surprised because when the gun shot off I thought it would scare Emery, but it didn't. She was a natural. What a proud moment for her Daddy. While the guys were out hunting rabbits, Shannon and I sat back by the cars and visited while Emery played with Hannah and Cloe. She loves all her friends so much. It is great to live by such great people and do fun things.

Tagged

Joys:
1. The holidays; I get so excited for everything about them. I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving with my family this year. We are all going to be there!
2. A nice quiet bubble bath. Sense I have been pregnant they have been the best.
3. Having Tim home, usually the weekends cause that is when he is not so busy with school, work & shadowing.

Fears:
1. Snakes, snakes, snakes....
2. Something happening to my family.
3. Driving in busy places. Apparently Emery and Tim don't have a problem with driving. Emery LOVES cars right now! Hopefully she doesn't inherit my fear of cars and driving. So far so good.

Goals:
1. Getting all of Tim's applications in for pharmacy school (What a big project!!!)
2. Finish the Halloween costumes all the way. I have been sewing and working on them for like 2 months, lots of fun though. (This picture is from last year).
3. Being more reliable, like returning phone calls! I hate talking on the phone unless it is family or a really good friend.

Current Obsessions/Collections:
1. Getting Tim through this applications process and Semester.
2. Holidays, I love decorating, being with family, creating things that make it feel more like the season or holiday, it gives me something to look forward to!
3. Having a clean house. I was so sick and tired during my first trimester that it wasn't as clean as I would have liked it. Now that I am feeling better, I feel like I want it extra clean. I have been washing walls, taking beds apart to clean and vacuum underneath them etc.

Thanks for the tag Tina. I tag anyone who wants to do this. :) Easy cop out huh? :)

Good Can Come from Let Downs

Another weekend has come and gone, and I will tell you what, this has been a busy one!! It started off with Tim taking the PCAT on Saturday morning. He was gone taking it for six hours. Whew, what a test! Once he got home we headed off for more adventures. This is how it went.....
MESQUITE

We stopped to see my sisters family first. Emery and Dantzel dressed up in the Halloween tinkerbell costumes (this is just a sneek peek of our costumes, you will have to wait till Halloween to see it all). Then we went swimming. This is one of Emery's favorite things to do! I love watching her in the water, usually with a big smile on her face.

LOGANDALE

It is always fun at grandmas house. There are always so many fun things to do. Seeing the animals, riding bikes and fourwheelers, playing in the nice warm weather, chasing and hugging the dogs and just following grandma around. What a lucky girl.

LAS VEGAS
We were also lucky enough to stay with Zach (my brother), Nikki and Licoln for a night. It is not very often we get to see them and their place. Tim was so excited about Zachs new purchase and spent most of the night talking about it. I of course always love being with Nikki. She is always so sweet, optimistic, and fun to be with. And once Emery and Lincoln got past their shyness they had some fun playing together as well. Lincoln is a great sharer. Thanks for putting us up at your home. We had a great time!

LAS VEGAS ZOO
On our last day of our trip (Monday) we got to go to the Las Vegas Zoo. Tim had a school project for his Animal Behavior class and we were going to go to California during this weekend for it. The school was going to provide for most of it. We were going to go to the San Diego zoo, Sea World, the beach etc. But Tim's test (PCAT) was on the same day and it was the only time he could take it, so we decided to be responsible, past the trip and take the test. So we went to the Vegas Zoo instead (which I didn't know existed till now). At least we were lucky enough to go with some great friends who had to miss the trip too.
There were A LOT of birds in cages and just walking around, which was kind of cool. Emery and Cassidy even fed some while Tim and Kevin were working on the project for their class. It was a pretty little zoo, but still fun. I think Emery liked seeing all the animals and we had a great trip as well. We decided we are going to go on a baby moon sense we missed out on the California trip and Tim is going to surprise me with something. I love surprises. So I guess we ended up with two great things instead of one (a great trip this last weekend, and a surprise baby moon later). Who can complain about that!

First Snow

Last weekend we had our first snow of the season. Seems so crazy because it is only the beginning of October. I will have to admit that it was kind of fun. It actually snowed a lot more than this. When we woke up Sunday morning everything was covered in it. Emery really liked it. She was so fascinated with it that she watched it out the window for about 30 min. Can't wait to bundle her up and let her really go play in it this winter! We will probably make a little sled hill for her in our front yard. Bet she'll love that because she loves slides so much. Here are some pictures of some of the things we did inside sense it was so cold outside.

Outside with Daddy

The weather has been getting cooler, it seems a lot faster now, so I thought I would take some pictures of us playing outside. We LOVE being outside so it will be interesting to see what we do in the Winter. I guess just bundle up a lot! :) Emery really loves her Daddy. Not only is he great at taking care of her but he sure is fun to play with too! This picture is of Emery trying to learn how to fly like her Uncle Brady (with Daddy's help). Up, up, and away... Pa Pa Alan will be so proud!
This next picture is of Emery helping Daddy put our new shelves up in the Garage. We have been trying to get our garage really tidied up so it is nice playing ping-pong in there. It is so nice having some shelves so things are not sitting on the floor! Thanks Tim!

We also love this fall weather. It was neat to cuddle up and listen to conference in our nice warm house while it was raining outside. It just made it cozy. But now that it is warmer for a few days, we thought we would live it up and play outside in our shorts. Emery sure isn't complaining!

Tag: 6 Randon Things About Me

1. I love the smell of candles burning, but never light them because I am such a tight wad and some of them give me head aches. During holidays it is the best!
2. One of my biggest pet peeves is if people or myself put socks on after they have already worn them and taken them off (without washing them in between). For some reason it really grosses me out. But I have to admit that now I am a mom, I will sometimes put Emery's socks back on to save time or just to keep her feet warm if I am not at home and need some. It is funny the things you do as a mother.
3. When I am pregnant I never crave anything but rather have things that I CAN NOT stand to even think about. For example, this pregnancy I do not eat tomatoes, cheese (plain or seen on things) and sometimes bread. Crazy because those are some of my favorite things when I am not pregnant!
4. I LOVE holidays and wish I had enough decorations for my whole house and outside for every holiday, but on the other hand I do not like storing tons of stuff so I doubt that will ever happen. The idea of it sounds really cool and fun though. Maybe when we own our own home and have a big storage shed for it all. :)
5. This morning I had an extreme desire to start digital scrapbooking. Then I want to take the pages I digital scrapbooked and make a real book out of them. We will see where this desire leads to. I have no idea how to do it, but I bet I can learn and it sounds fun.
6. I really like to organize things. For example, I like to organize my closet according to color and sleeve length. I hear that is kind of common though. What a thrill! :D
(I know, kind of old picture. But there are not very many of me sense I am the one who takes the pictures. This one will have to do).
I tag anyone who wants to do this.

Another GREAT Find!!!!

Hooray!!! Yesterday a guy in Tim's class asked him what he did over the weekend. So Tim told him that we went out to yard sales looking for a toddler bed for his little girl and found a ping-pong table instead. The guy said, "Your looking for a toddler bed? I am trying to get rid of a toddler bed!!" So we went over to his house to look at it after dinner and fell in love with it. To top it off, he wanted to just get rid of it so bad that he gave it to us for free. Isn't that incredible! My mom and dad have always said that if you are trying your best in life, doing what's right and stuff then things seem to happen for you. I have learned that seems to be true. There have been so many times that we just think of something we need and sometimes something we want, put a little bit of effort and walla, it appears through some miracle or another. It is almost like magic. This toddle bed is a perfect example of that. We feel so blessed and know that we are not alone in this journey through life. Emery also LOVES her new bed, but I am going to wait till about a month or two before the baby comes to put her in it. She is sleeping so good in her crib right now it would be crazy for me to change.
