Trick or Treat

How about BOTH!!!!!!!!
Well that is what we got this week BIG TIME!!!!
For the TRICK
We have a new addition to our family and Emery is learning a new trick of playing randomly on it while imagining she is in a grand hall playing for a queen or something (imaginations are great). We have thoroughly been enjoying this new addition. It is and will be very special to us for it comes with a LOT of memories and stories! I could not even begin to share them all but to sum it up: it was given to my mother by her grandmother when I was very young and played on and loved by many. It has now been past on to me and my children. It reminds me of that song, The Touch of The Masters Hand, where the old violin was considered worthless until the master played a song from within and the bids started to rise. The only difference is in this case this piano has not always been played on by masters (a few like Nikki) but from little girls playing from their hearts for their great grandmother sitting near by or their mother while working in the kitchen. It may not be worth as much as other pianos or sound as great but it is truly loved and appreciated in this household and will always be cherished. Thanks mom and dad!
As for the TREAT......
My parents were able to come and see us at the beginning of last week (to bring the piano and for a wedding). I am so grateful for the role they play in my life! They are amazing people and I love being around them. It is wonderful having great examples in life to look to and the great support they are to us!
We also had Cami (my sister) and Brandon come stay with us toward the end of last week as well. They are always so much fun to be around and some of my favorite people to visit with. It seems like Cami and I end up talking and laughing away in one room while Tim and Brandon have deep intriguing conversations in another. It was so fun to see Duncan. He has grown so much and has such a sweet special little spirit! Emery and Kaven loved to see them as well. We were SO LUCKY to have a week full of GREAT people in our home! I sure love my family! Our Halloween if fulfilled with all these tricks and treats. Who needs "Trick or Treating" when you have experiences like this! I guess it just adds to the joy of it all! Happy Halloween!

Yay for pianos! That's precisely the kind of piano I grew up with and it served me very well!
You are too kind--I'm certainly not a master.
It sounds like you might have a budding pianist for a daughter. Now she has the tools do become one.

Hi! Can't believe how much Kaven has grown. He is SO adorable! How exciting that you got a piano! That's great. I need to start playing the one we have and stop taking it for granted but I've been so busy I guess. I bet Emery will become an excellent pianist because she is so smart! What she said about Sadie is so cute. At the store on Monday, Sadie saw a little girl that actually did look quite a bit like Emery and got all excited until I had to burst her bubble. I wish we were closer! Sure miss you guys. Sorry we don't comment very often. Your blog is sure cute!

Hi Dallas!
This is Kristen, Tim's 2nd cousin, I think. I'm cousins with his dad. My mom Lynda was at the Manti party for the Johnson family, where you guys figured out that we're at WVU with your cousin Devin, Shilo and Kindred. I was looking at their blog and found yours! Just wanted to say hi! Your kids are darling. Our blog is ourhappybunch.blogspot.com if you want to check it out.

What a nice blog. I am so happy that Grandmas Vogels gift can carry on to you. I am positive she is very happy that you have it and that is the way she wanted it to be. I hope it will bring as many happy memories to you as it did to me. I love you Dallas.
