In October......

Grandma and Grandpa Hills Came for a Visit.and my mom took these pictures on our walk through Millcreek Park.

It was so nice to have them come see us. We don't get to see each other as much as I would like so when we do get to see each other, it is extra special.

We Hit THREE Different WeddingsMy cousin Kasen, my cousin Austin and my Aunt Marcie. I didn't get pictures at all of them though.

We Had Our Hills Family Reunion
(this deserves it's own post)
and We Celebrated Halloween

Kaven was a train engineer. He just LOVED the train that his daddy made for him to drive around. He sure adores anything that goes (especially if it has wheels). This was perfect for him.
Emery was Rapunzel from Tangled. This was the dress I made for her birthday but I fixed it up a little. The wig came from a friend, which worked perfect! I think she looked a little like how Rapunzel looked as a little girl in the movie. What a sweet girl I have!

And here is Kavens' train in action. We took it on the shuttle bus and he rode it all the way through the hospital to get to Tim's Pharmacy Halloween Party (It is the only way to get to his building from the shuttle). It was neat to see the smiles on everyone's faces in the Hospital. We usually see such tired and somber faces when we walk through there. That made it all worth it.

OH and I can't forget what took up most of my time... the Primary Program. It was such a neat experience and a relief to have it over. I have the sweetest kids in our Primary. I have learned and continue to learn so much in this calling, and I love it.

Halloween

Halloween was quite nice this year. We did a little trick-or-treating together as a family but decided to spilt up for the rest of it. Tim passed out treats at home while I took the kids around with some of our friends. This was both Emery and Kaven's first official trick-or-treating door to door. We have been trunk-or-treating or sick in previous years for Emery. It was really fun to do the actual thing this year. The kids did so well and I found out that Kaven is like his mother and totally LOVES candy. He could not get enough and was so excited with each piece he could eat. I remember one year I ate so much candy that I made myself sick and threw up. It didn't stop me in future years though. I still LOVE candy to this day. Once we hit all the homes in our ward we came home and watched some fun Halloween shows on T.V. while we finished passing out Candy. It was simple and perfect this year. Now on to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I LOVE this time of year. Happy Holidays Everyone!

Getting Ready to Go (curlers in hair, even though it was raining the whole time and her curls ended up falling out.)

Trick-or-Treat

It is getting TOO heavy!

Checking Out Their Loot!

Getting Ready for Church on the ACTUAL Halloween day. I let Emery wear her costume because I felt it was Church appropriate.

Crazy Fun Week!!!

Family Party (F.H.E.)

Making Haunted Houses out of Cereal boxes. I am not sure if Kaven got more paint on his house or himself. :)

Little Haunts
Going on the hay ride.

Friend Party

I planned a Halloween Party with a good Friend for all the girls and their kids in our ward/ward boundaries. Becky is such a great photographer and offered her talents at this party while we had lunch and visited. The pictures in my header are just a few that she took of my kids. You can check her real professional work out here.

Court Party

Carving a pumpkin for the pumpkin carving competition later that night. Too bad Tim was at school and work because then we might of had a better chance of winning something if he was involved. Still fun nonetheless.

Ward Party
Here is a preview of our costumes this year. Someone took this for us as we came into the party so it is not set up the greatest but you get the idea. If you can not tell we are Goldilocks and the Three Bears this year. The kids had just barely received their booster flu shots, hence the gloomy looks. Or maybe they are just exhausted from such a crazy fun week. :)

Visit from Brady
(Tim's Brother)
We always love when family comes to visit. My favorite when Brady comes is hearing Tim and Bradys laughs throughout the house. Sorry no pictures though.

Little Haunts

My kids and I were having a little Picnic in our court when one of my friends started visiting with us. By the end of the Picnic we thought it would be fun to head over to This is the Place Herritage Park for the Little Haunts Festival, as soon as lunch was over. She said she had a Season Pass where we could get in for free with her. Not only that but another one of my friends was visiting with us as well and has a Pass too. So it was a VERY fun sponanious trip with some really great people. What a great way to start the Halloween Season. It was the first time my kids wore their costumes even though I did not have Kaven's finished yet.

Kaven just LOVED petting all the animals in the Corral. A Photographer from the place was even taking pictures of him because he was hugging and being so sweet with all the animals. I didn't get a very good picture of it though

Emery trying to catch the last of the Witch telling halloween stories

We took a ride on the Big trains and this Little Train

The kids had fun trick-or-treating at all the old houses as well. It was fun because we were able to to some different things than last year as well as some of the favorites like trick-or-treating at the old houses, hay rides, and more. Thanks Heather and Sarah, we has lot's of fun!

Be careful what you wish for........

because you might end up looking like this on Halloween Night It all began October 5th with the Photo Halloween Party (pictures in header) then dressing up in Halloween costumes and Painting Pumpkins in Delta (pictures in previous posts). At this point we are still going strong. Then we made Haunted Houses out of cereal boxes for FHE on the 19th. As you see, this is when things started to falter (it is not compleated). On Sunday we got a little bit more ambition again and made Jack-o-Lantern pumpkin cookies for neighbors, BUT we ended up throwing them away because we were just too worn out to deliever them. Well this is just the begining. The whole next week we had a Halloween party or function almost every day of the week!

Neighborhood parties

Ward Parties

School Parties

The cake walks were a favorite at all the parties for Emery this year.

Well, we had so much fun before Halloween this year that on Friday we said, WE ARE JUST HALLOWEENED OUT as we dragged our giant pumpkins (eagerly awaiting to be carved) to the car!!!! I know, I know, you are all probably thinking WHAT!!! the holiday and party weirdos burnded out??????????? Yes, I am sad it say, it was true. BUT we were recharged again on Halloween morning. We had a full day planned out. For breakfast we had Monster omlets. Then we were off to This is the Place Herritage Park for the Little Haunts with some great friends. Which I am going to do a different post on. It was tons of fun and I got A LOT of Pictures!!! But here is a little video for peeks
. We were going to take a little break for nap time and carving pumpkins (sense we pooped out on Friday) then head off to Trick-or-Treating and dinner/Utes game/Halloween get together with the same friends in the evening (Which we were REALLY looking forward to). BUT now we're back to the begining of my post.
Tim started feeling down during our "break" and ended up sick on Halloween Night! So we had to cancel with our friends and sat around at home all night. We didn't even pass out candy because Tim had touched it all and we did not want to spread anything by chance! So I guess we got what we wished for. Halloween OUT!!!
Needless to say we had a FABULOUS month of Halloween activities and we learned some important lessons:
Be careful what you wish for and
Maybe you really can have too much of a good thing.
So I hope you all had a fun, safe, and healthy (I might add) Halloween!

Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, Tiger, and Christopher Robin
Oh and if you were wondering how our Jackolanterns turned out here they are....

(Still not finished) Guess sometimes you just can't do it all.

Halloween is great for.....

Visiting Old Haunted Houses

We went to Manti for the Daughters of Utah Pioneers where they were honoring Tim's great, great, great grandpa. We visited a lot of the old houses, a cemetery and had lunch there (the house are not really haunted that I know of, but really cool).

Playing Dress-Ups in costumes from Halloweens Past

While in Delta we pulled out the Halloween costumes from Tim's childhood. Emery had a blast dressing up in all kinds of things like a witch, bat, batman, ghost, ect.
Painting Pumpkins

A friend of Tim's mom gave us some pumpkins to paint. Of course we jumped on that! Emery went to town on hers.

Visiting Spooky Rocks

Brady had a great idea to load up the Truck and take the motorcycle to a dormant volcano near Delta and the Lacy Curtains (pictured above) We had a BBQ and did lots of exploring. GREAT FUN!
Being surrounded by pumpkins

Just thought this picture was cute. Emery actually set all those pumpkins around him. Paula painted these and they are darling.

Halloween's Coming........

I just LOVE the holiday seasons!!! I always get so excited about putting decorations up around my house and making costumes. But this year I didn't have my Halloween decorations, because of the move they are in storage. So I decided to put more effort into my blog. SO MUCH FUN!

Luckily I have a great friend who is a professional photographer( Ravenberg Photography )that threw a Halloween Party and took quick pictures of all the kids. She mostly does Weddings and Engagement pictures so she was nice enough to deal with our wiggly uncooperative kids! THANKS BECKY! Your the best!

I think Emery's costume this year was the most fun one I have made. It is probably because she was SO EXCITED about it. When we got the material at the store she spent the rest of the shopping trip sitting in the cart rubbing the material on her face. And each time I got a piece of it done, she would try it on and get so excited. Man, holidays are fun with kids! Sorry to say I did NOT make Kaven's costume, I got it from a friend and it was still brand new with the tags on it and everything. Plus he just looked so dang cute in it, so I couldn't pass it up. :) Anyway, I know this is a silly picture to post of Emery but I just thought it was cute because that is just how she is when I try to get pictures of her (Not looking, or playing with something else.) Then there is Kaven so easy to please. Got to love it! Happy Halloween!
